Hogwarts: I'm a Model Wizard

Chapter 313: Discovery in the Secret Room

Although Harry and Ron did not tell anyone about Hermione's hospitalization, her disappearance quickly attracted the attention of several Gryffindors.

They had long been accustomed to her chattering in the common room, urging Ron and Harry to do their homework. Now that she suddenly became quiet, they were still a little uncomfortable.

Ron was still stubborn at first and said he didn't know, but the Weasleys knew their little brother (older brother) too well, and they got the truth out of him in a few words.

"So, Hermione is in the school hospital?"

"Oh..." Ron covered his face and groaned. If he had known, he would not have said anything.

"Is it another attack?" Percy stood up from the sofa suddenly, "Don't leave here, I'll go inform the professor!" After that, he was about to run out the door.

Ron and Harry hurriedly stopped him.

"It's not an attack, it has nothing to do with the Chamber of Secrets!" Harry said in a hurried tone.

"It's not an attack?" Percy glanced suspiciously at Harry and Ron who were holding his legs.

"Really not!"

"I promise!"

After the two people's earnest persuasion, Percy finally sat back down.

Fred and George looked at the nervous Ron with amusement, but didn't say anything. They just looked at each other and quickly completed some kind of communication.

...

On the morning of the third day of the holiday, when Kyle was about to leave after visiting Hermione, he ran into Fred and George who were sneaking around at the door.

"What are you doing in the school hospital?"

"We have a cold!" Fred blurted out.

"Come here to get the stimulant." George coughed twice in a pretentious manner.

Kyle raised his eyebrows.

They looked so red, how could they have a cold at all? They probably knew that Hermione was in the hospital and came here to inquire about the situation.

"What about you, Kyle, are you visiting someone in the school hospital?" Fred asked.

"Oh, I'm here to get the stimulant too." Kyle said loudly, taking out a small bottle filled with red potion.

Hermione obviously didn't want others to know that she had turned into a cat.

In order to prevent these two people from asking questions later, the best way is to pretend not to know.

"What a coincidence!" George laughed and said, "It's cold recently, take care of yourself."

"Yeah, yeah, you too."

The three chatted awkwardly for a while, and then left.

When Fred and George entered the school hospital, Madam Pomfrey had already covered Hermione's ward with a curtain, and they didn't see anything.

On the other side, Kyle, who returned to the castle, wanted to go to the library.

But when he walked to the lobby, he happened to see Peeves holding a bunch of balloons and chasing Myrtle around the castle.

Since the attack on the Bloody Baron, Peeves has become completely lawless, chasing this ghost or chasing that student all day long, and only restrains himself a little in front of the professor.

And Myrtle is one of Peeves' favorite targets.

Kyle couldn't figure out why Myrtle was afraid of Peeves' balloons, because that thing couldn't hit her at all.

But this is also a good opportunity.

After they flew away, Kyle immediately changed direction and came to the empty bathroom.

According to past experience, Peeves and Myrtle's chasing game will last at least an hour, and he can go to the secret room during this time.

Kyle opened the pipe with Parseltongue and jumped in, and came to the end of the passage with ease.

The door of the secret room slowly opened, and Kyle took the wand and stepped carefully on the black floor.

The stone that he stuck by the door before leaving last time was gone, and it was certain that someone had come to the secret room during this period.

Kyle carefully patrolled the surroundings.

The good news is that there is no one else here except him, so there is no need to worry about someone suddenly appearing and attacking him.

But under the Slytherin statue, there are some scattered snake sloughs and an obvious drag mark.

There is still some mucus that has not dried up, a bit like the traces left by the philobacillus caterpillar crawling across the floor, but much larger than that.

Seeing the drag mark and the snake slough, Kyle knew that the basilisk must have come out.

But who was it... Kyle stood up. Thinking carefully about everything that had happened recently...

The secret room was silent and eerie. The snake eyes carved on the pillars and the statues of Slytherin seemed to be watching Kyle.

But Kyle didn't care about it. He paced back and forth while thinking.

Before this, he asked Myrtle several times, but she said that she didn't see anyone else enter the bathroom.

But Myrtle's words were not necessarily correct. Although she lived in the bathroom, she didn't stay in the cubicle all the time.

But why didn't the props he arranged move? Could it be that there was another entrance... or that the person who released the basilisk didn't go in through the door?

"Crack..."

Suddenly, another sound completely different from the footsteps came from the secret room.

Kyle was suddenly awakened and immediately drew out his wand and pointed it in the direction of the door, but he soon realized that the sound came from under his feet.

Kyle lifted his foot. He realized that he had accidentally stepped on a snake slough while walking.

"That scared me."

Kyle breathed a sigh of relief.

But just as he reached out to pick up the snake slough, he suddenly found something else underneath.

A golden chain...

Kyle picked it up quickly.

The chain was less than two inches long, and was connected by several small golden snakes. There were signs of being torn on both sides, and it looked like it was torn from something complete.

"Is this left by the person holding the diary?"

Kyle immediately thought of Slytherin when he saw those small snakes.

Who made them like snakes the most? Whether it was clothes or accessories, they couldn't do without this kind of decoration.

As long as you pick up something with a snake pattern in Hogwarts, there is no doubt that it must be Slytherin.

However... Kyle looked at the half chain carefully.

Although the snake buckles connected together were small, they were lifelike, and even the scales on the body were clearly visible, just like alive. At a glance, you can tell that this thing is definitely not a cheap one.

Slytherin... and money?

Draco Malfoy?

Kyle subconsciously thought of Harry's old rival.

But he shook his head soon.

No... Malfoy was in the hall for a dinner on Halloween, so he didn't have time to release the basilisk to attack Filch.

Besides, Lucius Malfoy wouldn't let him get involved.

But who else could it be if not him...

Kyle stroked the chain and thought of several other names, Millicent Bulstrode, Daphne Greengrass, Pansy Parkinson... or Crabbe, Goyle?
