Chapter 558 The Magical Crown
The next day was the Easter holiday, and Kyle got up early and left the common room.
He first found Helena in the castle tower with the help of the fat monk, and then arrived at Hogsmeade Station before nine o'clock.
I don't know if it's because of the Triwizard Tournament, this year's Easter holiday is not very popular, and Kyle is the only one in the entire prefect's box.
But it's good that way, no need to find another place.
When the train closed the door and was about to start, Kyle took out the door key that Dumbledore gave him yesterday and whispered.
"Nicolas Flamel..."
The whistle that just sounded in his ears stopped abruptly. When Kyle opened his eyes again, he was already at the door of a familiar manor. In front of him was the magnificent manor gate and two lifelike dragon statues.
Kyle walked over curiously. He remembered that Nico said that these two statues were among his most satisfying works in recent centuries.
However, Kyle did not see what was so magical about these two statues. They felt like the stone statues in the castle. The only difference was that there were many complex magic symbols on the statues in front of him.
"Welcome, sir!"
A sharp voice came from his ears.
The house elf Tata was standing there, bowing to Kyle.
"The master asked Tata to pick you up, sir."
"Thank you, Tata." Kyle said.
Although he had received Nico's invitation, it was still more reassuring to have a house elf lead the way here.
"It's Tata's honor." The house elf said.
Then he took Kyle into the manor, through the front yard and the entrance hall, and walked through a long corridor, and stopped at the door of a very inconspicuous room.
Tata took the initiative to knock on the door.
Soon, the door opened.
Kyle also saw Nico Flamel. But it was not him in person, but through a mirror.
Nico's figure was reflected in the mirror, a bit like the portraits in the principal's office.
"Nice to see you, Kyle." Nicol Flamel in the mirror turned around and said, "The refining of the Philosopher's Stone has reached the most critical moment. I can't leave.
Fortunately, I made this before."
As he spoke, Nicol in the mirror suddenly emerged from the mirror, and his whole body passed through the table and came to Kyle.
"Another application of the Pensieve." He explained: "What you see now is just a memory."
Of course, even if he didn't explain, Kyle could see that Nicol in front of him was fake.
In addition to passing through the table, the real Nicol couldn't walk so fast.
While the two were talking, Tata had quietly left the room and closed the door.
"You have received the letter I wrote to you, right?" Nicol said.
Kyle nodded.
"Then... come here."
Nicol led Kyle forward to a shelf. On the grid in the middle of the shelf was a purple velvet cushion, and on the cushion was an exquisite crown.
Ravenclaw's crown.
The rust has disappeared, revealing its original appearance.
The whole thing is silver, and it looks like a raven with its wings spread out. In the middle... the part of the raven's body, is a complete sapphire.
The repaired crown looks ordinary, and Kyle can't feel the existence of any magic on it at all, just like an exquisitely crafted ornament.
"The most perfect alchemy technique will hardly have any loss of magic." Nico exclaimed: "It took me almost three hundred years to do this.
"I think you should have guessed who the lady I mentioned in the letter is."
"I thought of a name." Kyle said, "but I'm not sure... it's incredible."
"In fact, I am the same." Nicole said, "I always thought that nothing could surprise me, until a few days ago, I suddenly heard the sound of the crown... I almost fell off the chair at that time.
"But I think you should perform better than me... after all, you have seen her once."
"So, is it really Rowena Ravenclaw?" Kyle asked.
"Who else could it be but her?" Nico said with a smile, "There's no way Albus' voice could be in the crown."
"That's really scary." Kyle also laughed.
Dumbledore still doesn't know that the crown has been found, and neither Kyle nor Nico have revealed a word.
After all, the crown is strictly speaking the property of the school. What if he insists on taking it back? On this point, the two of them are surprisingly tacit.
"Okay, Ms. Ravenclaw seems to want to talk to you alone, so I won't bother you... Just put the crown on your head."
Nico then disappeared, and only the mirror against the wall flashed a faint light twice.
Kyle looked at the crown in front of him and carefully took it off the cushion.
The crown was not heavy, just like a normal book. Kyle took a long breath and put it on his head.
The world in front of him seemed to become brighter all of a sudden.
Kyle felt that his mind was clearer than ever before, and some problems that had troubled him for a long time were instantly solved.
He knew why his "Vulcan Opening the Way" was so much worse than Dumbledore's. He had always thought it was a problem with magic, but it seemed that it was not the case.
He did not need to use magic to maintain the shape and stability of the flame. That was too wasteful. He should have converted the magic into guiding runes from the beginning.
In this way, he only needed to pull the spell, just like flying a kite. As long as the string was in his hand, the kite would not get out of control.
So that's it... No wonder Dumbledore reminded him several times before to look at the booklet more.
Kyle subconsciously turned his head and looked at the mirror on the wall.
In his eyes, the runes engraved on the frame suddenly came alive. They jumped and lined up in front of Kyle.
It was like a Quidditch game.
Some runes formed chasers, some formed seekers, and there were also golden snitches, quaffles, and bludgers.
They each performed their duties and together formed a wonderful game.
And their role in the game was also clear at a glance.
"It's incredible..." Kyle muttered to himself.
"That's because you already know this knowledge."
A strange yet familiar cold female voice sounded in his ears.
"The crown cannot give people what they don't have. Even if a person who doesn't understand magic words wears the crown, he will never understand the function of this mirror."
Then, the jumping pictures in front of him disappeared.
Kyle suddenly felt a strong sense of loss. He didn't want this magical state to disappear, but to keep it forever.
In a trance, it seemed that a breeze blew over. It was a dewy breeze in the early morning, very cool, and blowing on his body also made Kyle regain his consciousness for a short time.
"No!"
Kyle gasped for breath, and cold sweat flowed down his forehead.
He finally understood what Nicole said before. This feeling of being omniscient and omnipotent really made people unable to stop.
He became so addicted after just a few seconds of experience. If it lasted for a long time, after taking off the crown, he would definitely go crazy because he couldn't bear the huge gap.
Thinking of this, Kyle subconsciously reached out and tried to take the crown off his head.
But it seemed like it was growing on his head and he couldn't pull it off at all.
