Warhammer: Return of the Dragon

Chapter 1141 Princess Ainir's Trip to Lothern

Marest, who came to Lothern for the first time, felt a little uneasy.

Ainir expressed his submission to the Phoenix King, but in fact it was just nominal loyalty. Apart from sending a guard to serve as the Phoenix King's ceremonial personnel, there was almost no relationship.

It was obvious that Imrik had no interest in Ainir, but because of the title of all elven monarchs, the elves in the empire had to express their submission.

Either serve or die, it was such a simple choice.

The more gentle Ainir chose the former. Fortunately, he expressed his submission after the civil war ended. Otherwise, with the appearance of Druzy and Aslai being seriously injured, Lauren Loren might be in danger under the threat of the beastmen.

As the future queen, Marest was very solemn when she traveled. When she heard that His Majesty had summoned her, the maids prepared many gifts as preparations for an audience with the Phoenix King.

However, according to Elvis, His Majesty actually didn't care whether the audience was solemn or not. There were two biggest possibilities for preparing so many things.

The first was to throw it to the dragon as a toy, and the second was to put it in the Phoenix Court treasury to rot.

Out of caution, Marest did not agree to the simple plan prepared by her fiancé. She prepared three gifts.

Two were given to the co-lord Phoenix King and the Everqueen, and the other was given to Prince Caledor.

When Princess Anil, who walked side by side with Elvis, entered the Phoenix Court, she was first surprised by the tight guard formation.

The black and white halberd guards stared at each other in deathly silence, and the warriors wearing lion cloaks stood proudly. In the shadow corners were the Eternal Guards of Asrai and the Woodland Guards of Anil.

Unlike the grand and solemn reception imagined, or the deliberately belittling and indifferent reception, a warrior wearing golden dragon armor walked quickly towards Anil.

Marest was about to greet the Flame Knight. Even if he didn't know his identity, these dragon princes were undoubtedly respected in Caledor.

But the Flame Knight walked straight to Elvis and opened his arms to give him a bear hug.

"Damn Elvis, do you know how angry His Majesty was when he heard that you died at the hands of Cain's incarnation?"

"I think he will definitely be eager to discuss with the prophet who will be the next Grand Master of the Horned Viper." After a humorous complaint, Elvis also hugged the Flame Knight: "Ernest, it's really a pleasure to see the face of an old friend."

"Me too..." Ernest slapped Elvis' back hard, and then slowly let go.

The Flame Knight turned around and faced the Princess of Anil, his temperament changed from the emotion just now to seriousness: "Princess Marest, His Majesty has been waiting in the royal court for a long time, please follow me in."

Marest nodded immediately, "It's my honor, and it's Anil who is here to see His Majesty..."

Seeing the flickering eyes of the Flame Knight, she immediately changed her words: "What the Lauren Loren elves hope for, we firmly believe that even if we are far away in the old world, we can still get the protection and blessings of the gods."

The Flame Knight nodded in agreement, and then turned around to invite the group in.

Walking in the exquisitely decorated and elegant Phoenix Royal Court, Marest had no intention of looking at the surrounding buildings. Her uneasiness became more and more serious.

The Flame Knight was very strong. The dissatisfied look just now made her mistakenly think that her neck was bitten by a dragon.

If the style of the royal guards was so tough, would the Phoenix King have good intentions towards Anil... even with Elvis as a contact.

Seeing his fiancée's flickering eyes, Elvis held her hand and comforted her: "Don't be nervous, His Majesty is far more... merciful than you think, he won't ask too much about Anil's affairs, just report to the Royal Court as required and maintain friendly relations with the Northern Territory of the Empire."

"Well... but I still can't help but think, if His Majesty is very tough and asks Anil..."

The clenched palm made Marest stop talking. Looking at her fiancé's firm eyes, she knew that he didn't want to hear what he said next.

When he really met the Phoenix King, Anil was surprised by the person on the throne.

He exuded divine light, his deep eyes seemed to carry endless wisdom, and his strong aura made the visitors feel great pressure.

The Phoenix King sat on the throne, quietly watching a group of Einel enter the hall, bowing, saluting, and greeting.

Then, he took off the Phoenix Crown and said with some emotion: "Elvis, you found a good girl. If my eyes are still sharp, Marest should be carrying the will of the Lauren Loren Forest..."

He saw my essence at a glance? Marest was shocked and thought of the rumors about the eleventh Phoenix King.

The second monarch of all elves was not only blessed by Asuryan, but he himself represented Asuryan.

Princess Ainir bowed deeper: "Your Majesty, your eyes are amazing. I have been recognized by the gold and silver sacred trees and have an inseparable connection with the forest spirits."

"Very good, but speaking of it..." Imrik changed the subject and led to Elvis:

"Your uncle still has some complaints about this marriage, mainly because Agsel believes that someone must guard the Wind Howling City, and Beatrix always complains that the men in the family run around and do nothing."

"Then let Aunt Beatrix continue to work hard. She always complained that men solve everything before, leaving only marriage, childbirth and housekeeping for women. Maybe she can also open up a new battlefield in Wind Howling City."

The inside joke made the two of them smile at each other. Imrick was a little emotional. The strict herald back then has now become an adult.

"Well, I still miss the past when you and Orseya were fighting with wooden swords and she beat you to a pulp and you cried for mercy."

"Your Majesty, that was two hundred years ago... Orseya and I were still children."

"It's because we were children that it's so interesting... I remember Beatrix was still shouting beside her, saying that the winner could be exempted from three days of knowledge courses. This made me see two children with my own eyes, fighting from the mountains to the coastline with wooden swords...

Of course, this may be a bit exaggerated. After all, I'm just a joke, haha."

When Elvis was speechless, Marist was shocked, and Phyllis covered her forehead, Imrick laughed.

After a while, looking at the stinky boy who remained speechless in the audience, Imrick felt that he was much calmer than before.

"Okay, let's get back to business. There are two main reasons why I asked you to come to Lothern with Marest.

The first is about the wedding. Your marriage contract was promised to Enil by me and Wycliffe. Your grandfather has passed away, and I have the obligation to witness this wedding.

The second is the routine communication between the Phoenix Court and Lauren Loren. I hope to discuss some things about the empire." (End of this chapter)
