Chapter 1085 Meeting
The Salamanders stayed in the Across Sector until the men sent by the White Scars took over their shifts. Tushan summoned the fastest ship among the many ships scattered in the sector.
The duties of the Fire Dragon Sons had been taken over by the descendants of the Chogoris Eagle. They all left the Across Sector and headed straight for the navigation coordinates given by the Thunder Warrior Captain.
The mortal crew controlled the ship.
For the first time in ten thousand years, the fearless warriors of the Salamanders were awakened in a non-combat state.
The warriors in the regiment knelt in front of the statue of Vulcan, the Lord of Fire Dragons, on the command deck, including Tushan.
The Fire Dragon Sons were silent, and the regiment leader did not speak. Everyone had different ideas.
Tushan was questioning himself whether he had adhered to the teachings left by the Gene Father to the predecessors of the regiment in ancient times, and whether he had practiced the principles of the Gene Father.
Then Tushan answered himself. He thought he still adhered to the teachings and practiced the principles. Even if some places might not be satisfactory, the image of the Father of Genes in mythology and his will that could be interpreted were implemented by the Salamanders.
Then Tushan examined whether he was competent as the Chapter Master.
Like the Space Wolves, the Salamanders did not practice the Holy Code thoroughly, and even more thoroughly than the Space Wolves.
The Space Wolves had separated a chapter that was inexplicably destroyed not long after, but the Salamanders did not separate a chapter at all when the Holy Code was promulgated.
It was not because they had any doubts or dissatisfaction with Guilliman, but because the Salamanders died so much after the Horus Heresy that they could not separate the chapters at all.
And now there are only a few sub-companions. If it were not for the supplement of the Primaris, I am afraid that even the slow reorganization of the Legion would not be possible.
Tushan and the previous Chapter Masters were ordered in times of crisis. He did not fight side by side with the Father of Genes, even during the Beast Wars after the end of the Primarch's era.
Putting all the current Astartes together and taking the Primarch into consideration, the only one who can be considered old is Dante, the thousand-year-old Chapter Master of the Blood Angels.
If we are to be more particular about the argument, Tushan feels that he should call the Primarch the Genetic Ancestor.
But the truth is this, the connection between the Primarch and the Astartes at the genetic and soul level, how could the Astartes who have never seen the Primarch feel that the Primarch is unfamiliar.
If facing the question of the Father of Genes, Tushan can only answer that he has done his best, and this is his own evaluation of his duties.
While Tushan was thinking about this, the ship suddenly stopped.
The star map projected on the command deck showed that they had not arrived yet.
"The abnormal space fluctuation caused us to stop." The captain reported to Tushan.
As soon as the voice fell, a ship suddenly appeared near the star like a flying phantom.
It was a ship so large that it could not be included in the field of vision even at a very far distance, and the star pattern on it announced its ownership to everyone.
Tushan had seen this ship during the Golden Expedition.
The Glorious Human Flagship of the Tyrone Navy.
The tractor beam released from the Tyrone Navy flagship easily caught the ship where the Salamanders were, dragged the ship into the module at the bottom of the flagship that served as a star port, and the ship docked extremely quickly.
When things got to this point, the Sons of the Fire Dragon knew who they would soon meet.
"Get off the ship, kids." A dreadnought turned its huge body and roared out of the command deck, "The Gene Father is waiting for us!"
The Astartes lined up neatly and followed the dreadnoughts to leave the command deck.
The Sons of the Fire Dragon left the ship and entered the docking platform of the flagship's inner star port.
There were no star port staff coming and going here, not even a drone.
The only person standing there was a tall figure in a black robe.
Tushan's eyes fell on that figure.
First of all, that figure was huge, extremely strong and heavy, definitely a Primarch.
Who among the Primarchs had this body type, no need to think about it.
The Dreadnoughts marched, the Astartes still maintained their formation, and the Sons of the Fire Dragon walked towards the figure.
The sturdy figure also took off his hood and walked towards him with a smile.
There is always a wonderful connection between the Primarch and his descendants, but after all, the Astartes are a weapon used in war, organized by the legion rather than the family, so even if both sides are very excited, there will not be a situation where a large group of Astartes rush up to hug the Primarch.
Military regulations.
The Sons of the Fire Dragon lined up in front of Vulkan.
Vulkan also slowed down when he approached them.
Until the distance between the two sides was less than two meters, they both stopped.
Tushan suddenly became nervous. He went over all the questions he had asked himself on the way here, and then waited for the Father of Genes to ask him about the duties of the Chapter Master, the duties of the Chapter, and so on.
But Vulkan didn't ask anything, and his loud voice calmly roared in the ears of the Astartes: "I heard that you just experienced a difficult battle a few days ago, are you all right?"
"We lost some people, but we completed our mission and duties." Tushan replied after a brief silence caused by the accident, "We carried out your will."
"No, it is not our mission to protect a group of civilians after the friendly forces have withdrawn." The captain of the third company stood up and said, "We were in danger of being destroyed in that battle."
The Salamanders' Third Company always looks out of place among the good guys of the Dragon's Sons.
They will not treat civilians coldly, but if civilians and missions are put in front of them, they will choose the latter.
"Do you have a negative attitude towards our battle on Ion One?" A Dreadnought turned around and asked the captain of the Third Company.
"No." The captain saluted, "But the mission is the mission, and rescue is rescue. I have never refused to perform rescue without a mission that must be completed, but the two cannot be confused."
When the Dreadnought wanted to say something else, Vulkan interrupted gently: "Yes, you are right, that is not your mission."
Tushan raised his head and looked at the Father of Genes.
"But that is your duty."
Vulkan looked at everyone.
"You are not a group of cold executioners or killing machines. If you and I were created just to be killing machines, my father would not have left us with compassion and humanity."
"The ancestors of mankind once lived in a dark environment, and then learned to use fire to keep warm and drive away wild beasts."
"Humans no longer have to slowly learn how to use fire, but the living environment of this race is still dark."
"My descendants, you must remember that we are a cluster of flames that dispel darkness and bring warmth, not hateful killing machines that treat mortals as ants."
