Chapter 201 Snape VS Lupine
Daphne was right. The professors came on stage soon. Flitwick, Lupin, and Snape stood on the round stage in a row.
The audience was silent, and everyone was waiting for the professors to start their "performance" tonight.
Lupin and Snape were dressed as usual, one in a simple robe, and the other dressed like a big bat.
Flitwick's dress was very unusual. He usually wore a tuxedo, dressed like a band conductor, but today he changed into a vest, shirt and suspenders, looking very flexible and capable.
It can be seen that dexterity and evasion are also very important attributes in duels. You can either be as resistant as Hagrid, or as flexible as Professor Flitwick.
Seeing that the students were very quiet, the three professors on the stage were also very satisfied.
The three of them faced one direction and bowed slightly to the students. Then Professor Flitwick opened the first meeting of the dueling club on behalf of the three.
"Children, come closer... Oh! Mr. Weasley, you are too close! You are only half a step away from going on stage, and Miss Parvati in front of you looks suffocated - if this continues, I will have to switch places with Severus." Seeing Professor Flitwick say this, Fred and George took two steps back at the same time in tacit understanding. "I don't expect every student to see me, but can everyone hear my voice?" There was a low laugh in the crowd. Seeing that the students had responded, Professor Flitwick began to introduce the origin of the duel club. As Professor Flitwick explained, the faces of the young wizards gradually became solemn: Who on earth dared to try to sneak into Hogwarts? Could it be the remnants of that person? But haven't those who are really crazy and loyal to him been arrested and put in Azkaban? Some young wizards with complicated family backgrounds even planned to send letters home to ask their father if he and his "old friends" had done anything recently. "I believe everyone can learn useful knowledge in the club. I personally hope that you will never need this knowledge, but if you need to defend yourself one day in the future, what you have learned in the club may come in handy."
The students began to applaud the professors.
"Okay, next I will introduce my assistants-Professor Snape and Professor Lupin. They are both very good duelists. Please let them do a little demonstration before we start. We will show you the process of a complete duel."
According to Flitwick's meaning, it is enough to have Lupin, the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, as an assistant. But before the class started, Snape found him and expressed his desire to become an assistant.
Flitwick agreed after thinking for a moment. He knew what Severus was thinking, but Flitwick felt that with his participation, the opening of the duel club would be much more exciting.
What's more, a duel does need a referee.
After seeing the malicious smile on Snape's face, many students secretly sweated for Professor Lupin.
"Too bad... Merlin, I hope Professor Lupin wins." Ron muttered.
Fred and George, who were standing in front of him, smiled at each other after hearing what their brother said.
Lupin had been in Hogwarts for a while, and anyone with eyes could see Snape's attitude towards him - if Potter was ranked first on Snape's blacklist, then Lupin must be ranked second.
Amid the students' whispers, Snape stood opposite Lupin. At this moment, Snape's expression was terribly cold, but Lupin still had a smile on his face.
"Duelists bow to each other!" Flitwick stood between the two and shouted loudly.
Snape and Lupin bowed to each other, which was considered a bow.
"Three, two, one, start!" Flitwick gave an order, and the duel began.
Both of them raised their wands to their shoulders at the same time-
"Expelliarmus!"
"Armor!"
A dazzling red light flashed from the tip of Snape's wand, but was deflected by a translucent shield conjured by Lupin. Lupin was ready to fight back, but Snape's second spell came again.
A puff of black smoke spit out from the tip of his wand, and the black smoke condensed into a big snake, rushing towards Lupin.
"Obstacles!"
The big snake seemed to have hit a transparent wall and stopped halfway, unable to move.
As if to take care of the little wizards present, the two professors used very basic spells at the beginning. However, after two rounds of fighting, the two gradually became angry.
Snape cast a spell, blasting a big hole in the ground at Lupin's feet, and the flying stones hit his thigh. Lupin fought back, and with a wave of his wand, Snape's face seemed to be hit hard by an invisible fist, and blood flowed directly from his big hooked nose.
"Hanging bell!"
When Lupin shouted this spell, a trace of anger flashed across Snape's face. Just as he was ready to defend against this spell, he found that Lupin did not use this spell, but took the opportunity to throw a black egg-shaped object next to him.
Bang!
The black egg exploded, and a strong stench immediately enveloped Snape.
He could dodge the evil curse, or bounce the incoming spell back, but he could not solve this kind of "field-type" attack in a hurry.
"Wonderful!" Just as Snape steeled himself and prepared to hold his nose and fight back, Flitwick decisively stepped in, intervened in the duel between the two, and put an air wall between the two, forcibly ending the duel.
"Excellent on-the-spot reaction! Students, if there are no rules prohibiting it in advance, you can use magic items in a duel." Flitwick's eyes swept across the faces of Fred and George: "If I guessed correctly, just now That must be a shit egg, right?"
The little wizards in the audience burst into laughter.
Snape stood to Flitwick's right hand with a sullen face and a foul smell. He obviously wanted to continue fighting, but he didn't expect Flitwick to forcefully stop the duel.
So he also made a choice: not to deal with the filthy smell on his body - it was the hem of his robe that was stained anyway, and Flitwick felt even worse than himself.
Sure enough, the expression on Flitwick's face suddenly froze. He did not continue to speak, but took out his wand and used a cleaning spell to clean Snape's robes.
It wasn't until Snape stopped smelling bad that Lupine limped and walked to Flitwick's left side with a smile on his face.
"Don't laugh," Flitwick tried hard to take two breaths of fresh air before continuing: "If Professor Lupin had just created a poisonous mist, the outcome of the battle would have been decided already. Children, this really makes us What a fruitful battle!”
The audience burst into applause for the two professors.
