Rebirth of the Viking King

Report Progress to Fellow Readers

First of all, let me report the progress. I haven't stopped writing.

I have been writing for the past two months. Recently, my industry has entered the off-season, and I have been writing more every day than in the past few months.

I have lost about 1,500-2,000 collections in the past two months. To be honest, I am very happy.

For a long time, I looked at the average subscription of more than 100, and I always thought that my more than 10,000 collections were all robots assigned to me by Qidian.

Now it seems that there are at least more than 1,000 living people.

Although they left, my book is still read by people, which is still good.

I have been writing for two months, and to be honest, I have not made much progress.

Because I fell into a misunderstanding in these two months.

I overestimated my ability again.

When I just stopped writing, I looked at "A Song of Ice and Fire" written by George Martin, thinking that the length of each book from the first to the fifth volume is almost the same.

When it comes to mine,

the first volume has 100,000 words, followed by 150,000, 200,000, and the last volume of the first act, and it went straight to 300,000 words.

The more words, the less room for imagination.

This is not a good thing.

Even if you don't read George Martin, in China, the thickness of each volume of "Piao Miao Lu" written by Jiang Nan is about the same, and there is no such situation of word count being out of control.

So I stopped writing the second act, and the initial idea was to streamline my word count.

The first time I wrote about 20 chapters, it didn't feel right.

The second time I cut and deleted, I wrote about 50 chapters, but it still didn't feel right.

Later I was confused for a few days, and recently I finally realized

I am a rookie.

I acted like a 60-year-old man lying on a hospital bed and saying "I want to go to space as an astronaut".

The idea is good.

But my strength really can't support me to write like a master.

Whether it is talent or life experience, it's not good.

So now I am rewriting the chapters I wrote before. This chapter must be heading for 300,000 words again, but I have no choice.

Let's write it like this first, at least it tastes right.

Finally, I have to report a not-so-good news that I have to continue to stop writing.

And the time will not be too short.

This is determined by the recommendation mechanism of Qidian.

I don’t even need to consider the better recommendations, such as “best sellers”, “editor’s recommendation”, or even “limited time free”.

They are too far behind.

The worst recommendation “limited time free” requires at least 500 average subscriptions.

I have written more than 1 million words, and the average subscription of 100 is estimated to be like this until the book is finished.

The only thing I can rely on is the “intelligent recommendation” of Qidian. Qidian will put my book under some books with the same performance, and expose it in a small range.

However, once you stop updating, this “intelligent recommendation” will be gone.

This is understandable, otherwise there are hundreds of thousands of books in the library, occupying positions all day long, and Qidian is also very embarrassed.

I have to adapt to the mechanism of Qidian, so for someone like me who is not very strong, I have to save more manuscripts.

Only by saving more manuscripts can I update stably and stay on the intelligent recommendation for a few more days.

I know that the best way to write this book is like a traditional book. I finish writing a large chapter, upload it at one time, and then write the next chapter.

Readers are comfortable reading it, and I can also see feedback in time.

But if this happens, the book will be in a state of 0 exposure for a long time.

So I can only continue to save the manuscript.

After saving the manuscript, I pull out two chapters at a time like constipation.

To be honest, when I was writing the first act, I wrote from 7 o'clock to 12 o'clock every day after get off work. If I was smooth, I could write 10,000 words in 5 hours.

At worst, I could write 6,000 to 7,000 words.

Now I have just written the second act, the world view has become larger, and there are more characters. In the best case, I can only write about 4,000 to 5,000 words in 5 hours.

I can foresee how difficult it will be to write the third act.

However, the advantage of being older is that I no longer think about problems as utilitarian as young people. I write slower, but I write and think every day.

Sooner or later, I will finish it.

Book friends who have already spent money, please don't delete the book, wait a while.

Don't waste your money.

At least on my side, I won't let you throw your money away in vain.
