Chapter 278 The Secret of the World Tree
"I always thought that the World Tree was just a concept or something of energy nature. I didn't expect that it was actually a tree!"
The World Tree in front of him, with Eric's eyesight, was completely endless. Within his sight, he could only see a thick tree root rooted in a huge spring eye, which emitted endless dark black energy. The tree root absorbed all the black energy, converted it into some mysterious energy, and transported it to other places.
Odin appeared beside Eric at some point and stood shoulder to shoulder with him, "It is indeed not a tree. What you see is not necessarily true."
"What do you mean?" Eric's eyes were all attracted by the World Tree, and he was too lazy to look back at Odin.
"This universe contains ten dimensions. The World Tree you see now is just a projection of the real World Tree in a higher dimension. Here, it is a tree, but in a higher dimension, it is not." Odin spoke very slowly, as if he was afraid that Eric would not understand, and paused for a while to think about some words before speaking.
Eric turned his head suddenly and stared at Odin. "Legend has it that Asgard and Earth are in two different dimensions. Is that true?"
"Of course, if there is no connection to the World Tree, you can't reach Asgard even with the Space Stone!" Odin said proudly.
Eric nodded, clearing up the doubts that had been in Pan Heng's mind for many years. He pointed to the huge spring and asked, "That's Helheim, right?"
Odin nodded, "Yes, in this dimension, the world tree is a huge ash tree. It sprouted in the past, flourished in the present, and extended to the infinite future. The leaves are always green, its branches support the weight of the entire universe, and its roots run through the whole world. Its name is Yggdrasil!"
"Yggdrasil has three rhizomes, connecting three worlds, Helheim, Watheim and Niflheim. It uses these three worlds as base points to absorb nutrients from the universe. Your Midgard, that is, the earth, is the most special world, because it is in the center of the world tree, so we are used to calling it the atrium."
Eric couldn't help but look up, wanting to see what the center of the world tree looks like, but as far as he could see, the farthest place was still the roots, it was too big!
"Do you want to see it?" Odin smiled slightly, and his fingertips moved a divine power and tapped Eric's forehead. Eric felt that his sight was constantly rising and expanding, as if he had turned into a giant.
As his sight changed, Eric gradually saw the full picture of the world tree. As Odin said, the world tree was rooted in three special worlds, and at the end of the roots, there was a huge spring to transmit energy to it.
These three worlds are the underworld of Helheim, the kingdom of the dead, the kingdom of the dark elves, and Niflheim, the kingdom of fog.
Going up, there are three more worlds.
Right here, Eric saw the earth. As Odin said, the earth is at the center of the world tree, wrapped by the trunk of the world tree. Whether it is the energy transmitted by the roots or the information transmitted by each world on the branches, it will pass through the earth before it can be transmitted to other worlds.
No wonder the earth has been the center of Marvel's major events from ancient times to the present; no wonder those demons, who obviously have the power to conquer the universe, still stare at the earth; no wonder so many powerful beings can be born on the earth! Her position is too special!
In the center of the World Tree, parallel to the Earth, are Jotunheim, the land of giants, and Vanaheim, the home of the Vanir.
Going up, the World Tree has spread to the treetops, which are also connected to three worlds, Muspelheim, the land of fire, Alfheim, the land of elves, and Asgard.
"It's worth the trip! It's worth dying to see such a magnificent view!" Eric muttered to himself, his eyes scanning back and forth above the World Tree, and he could always experience some new insights from it, which made him significantly improve his understanding of the world, the universe, time, space, and everything else.
"Wait, what's wrong there?" Eric suddenly found something unusual and cast his eyes to one side of the treetops. The branches there were neatly cut off, as if a giant sword had cut off a piece of it. A large piece was missing.
"Did you find it?" Odin's voice suddenly came to his ears. Eric was startled, his eyes suddenly retracted, and he became a normal person again.
Eric nodded, "What's going on there? Why is there a piece missing?"
Odin was silent for a moment, his face dim, "In fact, there used to be ten realms on the world tree!"
"Ten realms?!" Eric's eyes widened, he had never heard of such a secret!
"There used to be another realm there, the tenth realm, the kingdom of angels, heaven!" Odin's face was solemn, with flashes of cold light in his one eye, "Thousands of years ago, heaven and Asgard went to war, and the angel queen killed my daughter, Angela! That was my first child!"
"Heaven? Angel Queen? What a mess? Isn't heaven God? How did the queen come out? And, the eldest daughter Angela? Isn't your first daughter Hela? Is Hela also a sister?" Eric kept complaining in his heart, but on the surface he pretended to listen attentively and did not dare to disturb Odin.
"Those birdmen were very powerful and almost defeated Asgard, but they didn't know that I could find the world tree!" Odin showed hatred on his face and slashed in the air. "I cut off the branch connecting to heaven from the world tree and exiled heaven!"
"Boast, brag as much as you can, since you're the only one who knows, so brag! I'm listening, let's see how far you can go!" Eric didn't show any sign on his face, but he was mocking him in his heart.
Odin raised his eyelids, as if he saw through his thoughts, "Do you think I'm bragging?"
"No, how could I! Your Majesty is so powerful, exiling a world is not a piece of cake!" You brag, so let's flatter each other!
Odin snorted coldly and shook his head, "Where do you think the Infinity Gauntlet was broken?"
"What?" Eric was stunned. He originally thought that the Infinity Gauntlet made by Odin was destroyed in the battle with those behind the scenes, but now it seems that Odin's words are not the case?
"Give me the Cosmic Cube!" Odin stretched out his hand. Eric hesitated for a moment, but still took out the Cosmic Cube and put it in Odin's hand.
Odin dragged the Cosmic Cube with one hand, and wrote complex runes on it with the other hand. A miniature spell gradually took shape on the Cosmic Cube, and the Cosmic Cube also lit up with dazzling blue light.
Eric controlled the magnetic field and adjusted the light intensity, and he could still clearly see what was happening on the Cosmic Cube.
But the next scene was beyond his expectations. As Odin's spell was completed, a small hole appeared on the Cosmic Cube out of thin air, and a gem shining with brilliant blue light slowly flew out.
The space gem was taken out!
