Chapter 1061 The Breeze and the Bright Moon Accompany You
It was a night with bright moon and sparse stars, and dense forests.
After seeing Su Sanqi, Su Yi pressed the sleeping points of the two rescued middle-aged men to ensure that they slept until dawn, and then set up an incense table in the courtyard and drew a magic circle.
He was not going to save the wronged souls and evil spirits here, because there were too many of them, and he could not save them all.
Moreover, setting up an altar to save the wronged souls and evil spirits in a place where there were wronged souls and evil spirits everywhere would make all the evil spirits hostile, and if they were not careful, they would be besieged. With Su Yi's current half-baked level, once he encountered such a scene, he would definitely die.
Not to mention that he didn't know what the underworld of this world was like now. If he acted rashly without knowing anything, he would be a fool. He would not be so unwise to seek death.
What Su Yi wanted to do was not to save the souls, but to seduce the souls.
When he opened his eyes to see the mulberry forest before, he found two special beings among the shadowy ghosts - a pair of boys and girls.
This boy and girl look only about seven or eight years old. Although they look ghostly, their faces and bodies are almost the same as they were when they were alive. Their cute appearance is still clearly visible.
They are floating among a pile of scary ghosts and evil spirits, standing out from the crowd.
In contrast, other ghosts are bloody and look very scary.
There are three reasons why this boy and girl are so special -
First, they have just died and it has not been seven days since they died. They are still in the bardo stage and are ignorant, so they have no experience of being ghosts. When Su Yi looked over there before, other ghosts showed greed, hatred, fear, etc., but only the boy and girl had curiosity on their faces.
Second, they have no resentment. Not all ghosts who are killed have resentment. A small number of ghosts who are killed by people do not have resentment. For example, some mothers are killed by their sons, but they do not blame their sons, so they have no resentment and cannot become evil ghosts. The reason why this pair of boys and girls had no resentment was because they died in a daze. They probably knew nothing about the ogre eating their bodies after they died.
Thirdly, this pair of boys and girls had not yet passed the first seven days, and their souls had not yet completely solidified. Once the first seven days passed, and they had experienced a seven-day death cycle, their souls would be formed. At that time, they would be among a bunch of wronged souls and evil spirits. There was only one fate waiting for them, that is, becoming food for other evil spirits!
In other words, if Su Yi had arrived a few days later, he would definitely not have seen this pair of boys and girls.
Think about it, they are also pitiful. They were born as human beings, but they were killed by people at the age of ignorance. Their bodies were eaten, and their ghosts would become food for other evil spirits, and they would disappear from this world completely from then on.
How miserable is it?
The first time Su Yi saw this pair of little ghosts, he had an idea. He decided to adopt this pair of little ghosts.
First, it can save the pair of ghosts from the miserable fate of being torn apart; second, having two ghosts around him to command will be of great benefit to him in the future.
Speaking of raising ghosts, it is not necessarily an evil thing, but it is good if used in a righteous way, and evil if used in an evil way.
Children who died prematurely will inevitably become lonely ghosts and wander in the world of the living, which is very pitiful. If someone can help them to be liberated, it is naturally a blessing for them, but if no one can help them to be liberated, they will have to endure the pain of reincarnation for seven days in the world of the living, while waiting for their original life span to run out before they can enter the underworld to reincarnate.
Many ghosts cannot survive to go to the underworld, and most of the time they are eaten by evil ghosts.
Therefore, Su Yi adopted the ghosts, just to drive them to do things, but it can give them more security, and they can also be fed by Su Yi to grow stronger. Before Su Yi leaves this world, he will help them to be liberated and let them reincarnate in the underworld.
The most important thing is that if Su Yi does not adopt them, they will be gone. Therefore, Su Yi's action was not to enslave them, but to save them, help them, and accumulate merit.
However, Ajiu in the previous world was different. Almost all the ghosts he raised were killed by him. The purpose of raising ghosts was to save food for himself, which was very vicious and cruel.
For raising ghosts, both Buddhism and Taoism have similar techniques, especially some evil and heterodox methods, which have various uses.
Orthodox Taoist practitioners raise ghosts to drive them to serve themselves, but they don't have any evil and cruel purpose.
In the Maoshan technique that Su Yi learned, there are a total of four ways to raise ghosts.
The first method is called the soul-sucking method. To raise a ghost in this way, you need to burn incense and offer sacrifices in front of the grave of a boy or girl who died unfortunately, draw a talisman to seduce the soul, and then plant a pre-prepared plant on the grave to let it grow naturally.
When the plants grow luxuriantly, chant the spell and burn the talisman, carve the plant roots into a three-inch three-inch puppet, then use cinnabar and the practitioner's blood to outline the puppet's facial features, and finally cast a spell to seal the child's soul in the puppet.
In this way, the little ghost will establish a master-servant relationship with the caster, and the master will feed them with his own blood, and they will also be more attached to and dependent on the master.
During the day, they will hide in the puppet to sleep, but at night, the master can let them out, they can protect the master, or go to work for the master. Most of the little ghosts are simple-minded. As long as the master orders, they will obey orders and never bargain.
If they can complete the task and get the master's reward, they will be very happy; if they fail to complete the task, they will be very frustrated and sad.
The second method is called Jiangtoushu. Just by hearing the name, you can tell that this is an imported technique that the predecessors of Maoshan Mountain absorbed from outside.
To raise a little ghost with Jiangtoushu, you need to carve a small coffin the size of a palm, then find the body of a newly dead boy or girl, make it sit up, and then use a candle made of corpse oil to burn the chin of the corpse until the chin of the corpse is burned by the fire and the skin and flesh are exposed, and then the fat layer is dissolved by heat and drips into corpse oil, and then put it in a pre-prepared small coffin,
After that, immediately cover it and chant a spell. After chanting for forty-nine days, this little ghost will obey orders and serve.
The third method is similar to Jiangtoushu, called the soul-chasing bone.
This spell is to pry out the coffin of a dead child, then open the belly and take out the ribs.
If it is a girl, take the fourth rib on the right; if it is a boy, take the third rib on the left.
After obtaining the bones, the mage can chant spells and perform rituals to collect the ghost's soul and use it for his own purposes.
The first of the three methods of raising ghosts is generally the most gentle, and the last two methods require destroying the body of the deceased, which is more cruel.
But compared to the fourth method, the first three methods can all be called "kind".
When Su Yi saw the fourth method of raising ghosts, he frowned and thought, isn't this an evil method?
How could the orthodox Maoshan Taoism record such evil and vicious magic?
This fourth method is called Stealing the Dragon and Switching the Phoenix. It is to perform a ritual when the pregnant woman is three months pregnant, take a breath of the baby in her belly, and fuse her own blood with a vegetable seed, and then plant the vegetable seed in an extremely yin place, water it with talisman water, let it take root and sprout, and this vegetable is called Yuancai.
When the pregnant woman gives birth after ten months of pregnancy, the Yuancai will show abnormalities. At this time, the person who casts the spell will burn a talisman and cut off the Yuancai with a knife. The soul of the born baby will be transferred to the seed of the Yuancai, and from then on, the Yuancai flowerpot will become its habitat.
The pregnant woman over there will give birth to a dead baby because his soul has been harvested.
This method of stealing a dragon and switching to a phoenix is very inhumane. Su Yi later asked Chen You and learned that there is a reason why this method has been passed down from ancient times to the present.
Contraception was not popular in ancient times, so the family population increased year by year, and the living burden of poor families was extremely heavy. In view of this, people who are proficient in this technique will target their own children, and in addition to reducing the burden, they can also send little ghosts to help, which can be said to kill two birds with one stone.
Although this is still very cruel, it still has a certain market among poor people.
Of course, this fourth method is definitely a sin, and the caster will definitely be entangled in karma after death.
It's just that the world is full of suffering, and most people only care about the road ahead, not the afterlife.
Of the four methods, the last three are not suitable for Su Yi to perform, because there are no conditions at all.
The bodies of the boy and girl had long been eaten by the ogre, and no one knew where their bones were thrown.
On the contrary, the first method was tailor-made for Su Yi.
The reason why the mulberry forest in front of him was lush and leafy was because they were watered with the blood and internal organs of the victims. This directly saved the most time-consuming step of the first method. Su Yi only needed to take a branch from each of the trees where the two little ghosts lived, carve them into puppets, and point out the facial features, and then he could directly proceed to the last step of summoning the souls and enlisting the ghosts.
Although it was the first time for Su Yi to perform this method of summoning the souls and enlisting the ghosts, this technique was not difficult, and there was naturally no possibility of failure for him.
However, when he went to cut down the mulberry trees and recruit the little ghosts, he still encountered twists and turns.
For the evil ghosts in the forest, they had long regarded the boy and girl as their prey. How could they be willing to let Su Yi snatch their food from their mouths?
But on the one hand, most of them were restricted in their movements in the forest and could not get out at all; on the other hand, Su Yi had already arranged a magic circle, and there were only a few powerful characters who could come out. Not only could they not hurt Su Yi, but they were also hurt by Su Yi's magic circle and fled back in panic.
As a result, they did not dare to provoke Su Yi, and could only watch Su Yi cast a spell to put the two little ghosts into the carved puppets.
At the moment when the spell was successful, Su Yi clearly felt that he had established a very mysterious connection with the two puppets on the incense table in front of him.
It was not so magical that they could understand the meaning with just a thought. This connection was more like a contract, which made Su Yi understand that he was the master of the two little ghosts and that Su Yi could see them at any time without using any magic.
And the two little ghosts also understood that they had a master. As long as they listened to the master, they would be rewarded; if they violated the master's wishes, they would be punished.
Looking at the two puppets in front of him, Su Yi clearly felt the two consciousnesses hidden inside, and the emotions they conveyed could also be clearly captured by Su Yi.
Fear, curiosity, expectation, uneasiness...
Very complicated.
Su Yi smiled slightly, pierced his finger with a silver needle, and dripped a drop of blood on each of the two puppets.
As soon as the blood fell on the puppets, the two little ghosts inside immediately sent out strong emotional fluctuations of joy and excitement, and the blood quickly dissolved into the puppets and disappeared, as if nothing had happened.
This is not a "blood drip to recognize the master", but feeding.
Ghosts actually hate the blood of strangers, especially the blood of practitioners, which is definitely the nemesis of ghosts.
But as a master, Su Yi's blood is a great tonic for these two little ghosts.
Because they have established a blood connection, the little ghosts will be close to and admire their masters.
However, although the ghosts are loyal to their masters, don't think they are harmless.
The establishment of a master-servant relationship is not absolute. If you only use them to do things but don't give them rewards, they will also get upset and go on strike. In serious cases, they will even bite back at their masters, causing misfortunes for their masters or even causing their masters to die tragically.
Rewarding them is simple. Just give them some candy or toys, and they will be very happy. Giving them a drop of blood every now and then will make them even more satisfied.
But you must not give them too much blood, because people are greedy, let alone ghosts? They must be made aware of the preciousness and hard-earned nature of blood.
In addition, ghosts are jealous and childish, and most of them are naughty and playful. When getting along with ghosts on weekdays, you must also take care of their emotions and pay attention to how you get along with them.
For example, some ghosts pay special attention to whether their masters value them, so when the masters eat, they must not forget to put more bowls and chopsticks on the table so that they can sit and eat together. When drinking tea or water, they must not forget them. They must first pour the tea into the cup and then pour it on the ground beside them.
Although ghosts cannot speak human language, they can understand what their masters say. Some ghosts especially like to listen to their masters talking to them. They will pester you to talk to them from time to time, and they will say anything.
Some ghosts like candy and toys, so you should put candy and toys in dark corners at home so that they can eat and play at any time.
In short, raising ghosts is like getting along with people. You must pay attention to the degree and degree. You can't spoil them too much, but you can't be too strict.
Through the habits of these ghosts, sometimes you can judge whether someone has raised a ghost.
If someone puts an empty bowl when eating, there are no children at home, but they buy toys and put them in the corner, and sometimes talk to themselves, they must have raised a ghost.
Raising ghosts is not necessarily the patent of practitioners. Some ordinary people will also raise ghosts to achieve certain purposes.
For example, gamblers or celebrities need little ghosts to bring good luck to them; those who make money through illegal means need little ghosts to warn or harm others; some old and ugly prostitutes will let little ghosts perform the trick of covering their eyes with ghosts to fascinate the drifters and make them willing to empty their pockets.
After Su Yi fed them blood, the two little ghosts finally stopped being shy and boldly floated out of the puppets, circling around Su Yi, curiously looking at their new masters.
Su Yi looked at them and smiled, saying, "From now on, you will be called Qingfeng and Mingyue."
