Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts

Chapter 273 Hufflepuff Interview

"That's the place I told you to stay." Les scratched his head, and was hesitant in his heart: Why did Dumbledore choose Rupert's Dessert Shop as the interview location? Did he notice something unusual? What's even more strange is that he replied to the letter too quickly, right?

From receiving the letter, writing the reply, to sending the letter back, it took less than ten minutes in total. Even if the owls used by the magic world are magical, this speed is abnormally fast.

When he asked about the interview time again and learned that he was going to the interview now, Les understood at once: Dumbledore is now in Diagon Alley, and maybe the owl just flew into the air and saw Dumbledore's iconic white beard.

"Would you like to go to the dessert shop with me?" After knowing that the dessert shop was the residence mentioned by Les, Helga invited Les to go there with her and watch her interview.

"Okay, I'll lead the way for you." Les took the lead and led Hufflepuff to Rupert's Dessert Shop.

On the way, he noticed that Hufflepuff's eyes were always glancing at the shop windows on the street.

"Isn't it incredible? The magic world has become so prosperous. In our time, there were no such prosperous magic streets."

Hufflepuff nodded, but there was also a sense of disharmony in her heart: such a prosperous magic world and the stagnant or even regressing magic level have created a strong sense of separation.

After thinking about it, she thought that this was caused by the "Statute of Secrecy" - under the control of the Statute of Secrecy, the settlements where wizards lived were not affected much, but the "markets" needed for shopping were greatly impacted.

Helga felt that perhaps all the magic markets in Britain were concentrated in this area, resulting in a deformed and abnormal prosperity. The magic shops that could be found in every corner of every town in their time are probably gone.

"How did you think of opening a dessert shop?" The topic quickly shifted to Les's shop.

Hufflepuff was quite surprised to know that Salazar funded a dessert shop, because the old venomous snake was good at and liked potion making, but he liked food magic more.

So how did this guy get involved with the dessert shop? Could it be that he mixed some ingredients into the desserts to make customers dependent on his desserts?

Les didn't know what Hufflepuff was thinking. If he knew what she was thinking, he would definitely be angry and curse: Wouldn't it be better for him to concentrate on opening a potion shop with this energy? What's the reason for this behavior of taking off pants and farting?

He just gave the werewolves some start-up funds, and opening a dessert shop was her choice.

"It's not that I want to open it." Les told Hufflepuff the story of Rupert. After listening, she stared at him with a very strange look.

"What's wrong?" Les noticed Helga's strange look.

"Your character has really changed. You would have killed the werewolf without hesitation, instead of sparing her life, and trying your best to treat her with spells and give her money - it's incredible. Are you really my old friend named Salazar Slytherin?"

Rice rubbed his hands. He had thought about this question and got a definite answer.

"Because Godric and I proved that killing can't solve the werewolf problem. But you and Rowena's spell can." Rice told Helga the news that the magic world was promoting the restoration spell.

"The werewolf group may be extinct in this century."

Helga:!

"I didn't expect that spell to have such a powerful effect." Helga sighed and thought it was really incredible.

A small act of kindness by her and her friend back then could actually make the notorious disease of lycanthropy extinct. She actually thought that Salazar and Godric's approach was more effective, but she just felt a little reluctant.

Rupert's dessert shop is not far away, and the two soon arrived outside the shop.

In the past year, the dessert shop has been doing very well. Rupert even took out some funds to expand the store and built a small courtyard next to the dessert shop, where customers can taste the desserts they just bought.

Dumbledore sat in the small courtyard waiting for "Ms. White". There were several plates of desserts in front of him, and a large cup of ice cream, which made Helga who walked into the courtyard stunned.

"Ms. Smith White, right? Please sit down!" Dumbledore saw at a glance that Hufflepuff was the girl who asked him to apply for the job, so he enthusiastically asked her to sit down and talk in detail.

He also found Rice who brought Ms. White here, but he didn't care too much, because Dumbledore knew that this shop was opened by a relative of Rice. It was normal for him to appear here, so Dumbledore just greeted Rice and wished him a happy holiday.

"Would you like some dessert? I've heard that there's a dessert shop in Diagon Alley, but I never had the time to come and try it. Today I finally got some free time - and then I received your job application letter. What a coincidence." He conjured up two empty plates and two sets of cutlery, handed one set to Hufflepuff, and kept one set for himself.

"Try it. The specialty of this shop is 'Muggle desserts', which are different from the common desserts on the market and have a unique taste." Dumbledore enthusiastically recommended the signature desserts of Rupert's Dessert Shop to Helga.

Dumbledore was in a good mood after having a novel dessert today.

This enthusiasm and happiness were passed on to Hufflepuff. She was moved by Dumbledore's emotions. Even though she was not very interested in desserts, she took the initiative to pick up a round pastry and put it in her mouth to taste it - this dessert called puff was quite good, not as sweet as she imagined.

Dumbledore asked her to taste the dessert, and Helga did not want to fall behind. So she took out two cups and served Dumbledore a glass of wine-flavored water.

"Wonderful food magic!" Hufflepuff's magic amazed Dumbledore. After tasting a sip of the drink she provided, he couldn't help but cheer for her.

"It's just a trick. The contents of the cups are essentially water." Helga waved her hand, and the wine in the two cups turned back to clear water.

Dumbledore's expression became even more interesting. Just now, he thought that Ms. White used some kind of food magic to summon the wine stored elsewhere into the cups. But now, after her explanation, Dumbledore found that he had never heard of or seen such a spell.

Now, he became very interested in Ms. White in front of him, and he wanted to have a serious chat with her.
