Chapter 800: Can't Hold Back
A huge deer was cut into several pieces and roasted on branches.
The campfire was burning, and the flames dispelled the cold wind of Asgard at night. The orange-red light shot up into the sky, fighting with the aurora in the sky.
Chen Ke and three witches sat around the campfire. They also brought some condiments from the City of Opportunity.
The deer was very big, and four people couldn't finish it. But they didn't think about really finishing it.
"I don't know what the taste of this deer is different from that of wild deer." Shreli sat on the chair she had transformed. She also transformed a dining table with candles on it and silver tableware on it. There was only one seat opposite.
"Have you eaten deer?" Diana asked.
"It's not uncommon. As long as you have money to buy a license, you can hunt deer during the hunting season." Shreli laughed, surprised that Diana didn't know this.
"Rich girl, huh?" Xu Jing looked at Chen Ke.
"By the way, Chen Ke, we never made a fire before. You said you were afraid of being found by the smoke. Why did you suddenly change your mind?" Diana asked.
Chen Ke did not answer. He looked up at the aurora, as if he was thinking about something.
"Don't bother her, Diana, he's... thinking." Shreli interrupted.
"You understand again? It seems that you are the happiest person after that incident." Diana said.
"At least I won't bother him." Shreli snorted.
Diana stood by the campfire with her hands on her hips. At this time, Chen Ke turned around. After so much time, he had grown a beard on his chin and cheeks, and his face seemed to be 10 years older.
"I just want them to follow the smoke to find us." Chen Ke said.
Xu Jing used a branch to pick the fire, and a string of red-hot embers rose.
"We can go to a farther place to inquire tomorrow." Diana said.
"We tried it, and the result was the same. They will not talk to you honestly except for teasing." Chen Ke shook his head.
"Those Asgardians are all like this, men are all big-bellied, and women are all pot-bellied." Shreli also echoed.
"She'll be fine, Chen Ke." Diana saw Chen Ke's anxiety. He had waited too long. He could still maintain his patience at first, but now he couldn't hold it anymore.
"You just don't want to admit the facts. I mean... it wasn't a car accident. No one knows what happened where she fell..." Shreli said.
"Maybe we should try jumping down as well." Xu Jing interrupted.
"Enough." Chen Ke raised his hand.
The three witches were silent for a while, and Chen Ke took out the blasphemous dagger, cut off a large piece of venison, and then took a bite.
"It's cooked." Chen Ke swallowed the meat and looked at the three witches.
"What are you going to do?" Xu Jing asked.
Chen Ke put away the dagger and said, "Asgard is not a country above time. This deer proves this."
Xu Jing looked at the deer on the grill. It was the prey she hunted in the woods a few days ago. Chen Ke used time to stop it.
"So their army is meaningless to you." Shreli smiled.
"I'm not sure. Maybe only those who are led by Thor to cross the Rainbow Bridge can be immune to my control." Chen Ke said.
"It is described in the myth that Asgard once conquered the nine realms. Odin conquered the monarchs of the nine worlds with a spear called Gungnir and became a god." Xu Jing said.
"You can't become a god without paying a price... and I suspect Odin is just a family member." Xu Jing said.
"Anyway, Odin is gone, Thor is dead, and now, only Freya is left in Asgard." Chen Ke said.
"Hmm." Xu Jing nodded.
"We can't find Lucina like this. This alone won't work." Chen Ke said.
Shreli looked at Chen Ke with a complicated expression on her face.
"Let's go find the Holy Diamond first. Maybe there is something in Odin's treasure house that can be used. Maybe after Wang Ailin becomes a witch, she can sense Lucina through the Holy Diamond." Chen Ke said.
"Didn't you say that the holy diamonds can only sense each other? Unless Lucina is holding the next one... As far as I know... the one in Asgard is the last one..." Shreli said.
"There will always be a way..." Chen Ke picked up a stone on the ground and threw it forward, and the stone rolled down along the mud.
"There will always be a way..." Eivor picked up the stone and looked at Lucina on the side.
In the valley, the 20 fighters were already in place. They were chained by the grays and came here in a long line. Now, they have been untied and put on weapons and equipment.
A large group of grays stood on the mountain. They had a wide field of vision and held crossbows in their hands. If these fighters made any extraordinary moves, they would face the danger of arrows.
Lucina was barefoot, with a sledgehammer beside her. She sat on a big rock and waited for an opportunity.
Eivor said that as long as they got outside, it would be much easier to escape, but now it seems not optimistic.
The mountain was full of people, the way out was blocked, in front was a volcano that looked like it was about to erupt, and on the horizon, five stone giants were slowly walking towards this side.
"What should we do? We can't go back, and if we go up the mountain, we'll be shot by arrows." The old soldier looked at Eivor.
"Go forward, the volcano is the only chance." Eivor said.
"You're crazy... maybe Surtur is over there!" said the old soldier.
"There is no other way. We have to go past the stone giants and run to the back of the volcano. There is a large ash forest below. We have a chance if we run there." Eivor said.
"That's too far. We can't run there at all!" The old soldier shook his head.
At this time, the stone giants were almost walking in front of them from the foot of the volcano.
Lucina grabbed the hammer. She had guessed what the stone giants looked like more than once in her mind. She thought she was ready, but when she saw them coming, she still underestimated the disgusting degree of these things.
The stone giants were piled up with irregular stones to form a human-like shape, but they were wet, with red and green poisonous water flowing on their bodies, and had very disgusting faces.
Not only that, they were so big that Lucina could basically be grabbed with one hand.
No wonder five stone men had to be accompanied by 20 prisoners. Even so, the weapons in their hands were not enough.
"This is the only chance, it is true." Lucina clenched the hammer.
"What are you talking about?" said the old soldier.
"Go forward, I'll hold back the five stone giants, you just run forward." Lucina said.
"You don't have to..." Eivor looked at Lucina.
Lucina waved her hand and said, "Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to sacrifice myself."
She really didn't consider self-sacrifice. With her athletic ability, it would not be a problem to get rid of the stone giants in an instant, but by then, all the fighters would die, and she would face the danger of being hunted.
Lucina's power is limited now, and she can't lose these people.
