Chapter 12 The Groom Is Not You

The mental power increased by 3, but Herag didn't have any intuitive feeling, and he didn't know the effect of mental power for the time being.

"How is it? Are you okay?" Emil saw Herag in a daze, so he asked.

"It's okay, I just wondered why I fainted." Herag explained.

"I have heard many such stories before, but this is the first time I have really encountered one. There are still too many unknown things in this world." Emil sighed.

After leaving the lake in the north, Herag and the others continued to patrol other areas, and no abnormalities were found in these places.

"After the wedding, I will report the weirdness here to the Baron." Emil wrote this down.

"There are many people here in spring and summer, but I have never heard of anything here. And the lake here only exists in winter, which means that the crying at night only exists in winter, that is, when the lake appears." Herag briefly summarized.

When he thought of the pale face he saw on the lake, his back felt a little cold, and he didn't know what it was, anyway, it couldn't be his hallucination.

The sun sets in the west, and the golden sunlight shines on the snow-capped mountains, creating a different kind of scenery.

At night, the wind blows harder and harder, and the sound of the wind is whistling, which is more intense than last night.

"Woo... woo..."

The familiar cry sounded again, and it was more obvious than last night.

Herag lay in the house, ignoring the cry from afar.

Who would have thought that the cold wind outside became fierce and was hitting his window.

"Woo woo woo..."

The cry became louder, and Herag pricked up his ears to listen, feeling that the cry seemed to be outside his window.

"Deep Blue!"

He glanced at Deep Blue's small map, and there was nothing outside the house, no animals or people.

"Woo woo woo... ah!"

A particularly piercing woman's scream sounded, and Herag suddenly felt that his whole head was confused, his head was splitting, and the world in front of him was black and white, and he was in a state of coma at any time.

"Unknown radiation energy attack detected, it is recommended to temporarily block hearing."

"Block hearing!" Herag immediately gave an order.

Huh~

The whole world seemed to be quiet, and Herag's head no longer hurt.

Herag touched the window and found that it was not his illusion. There was not even a breeze outside the window.

"I wonder how Emil is doing." He suddenly thought that Emil was still next door. He could use Deep Blue to block his hearing, but Emil couldn't.

He opened the door and found that Emil's door was already open.

"Where is he?" Emil's room was empty, and the quilt was still warm, which meant that he had just left.

The bedroom was on the second floor. When he ran to the first floor, he found that the door was open.

"What is Emil doing out so late?" Herag was full of doubts.

He thought about it and decided to go out and take a look. He looked around the farm and didn't see Emil.

When Herag passed by Massimo's house, he heard a particularly loud snoring inside and thought to himself: "This old man has a really good sleep quality. No wonder he has been fine for so many years. He sleeps so soundly that no one can wake him up."

"Could Emile have walked out of the farm..."

When he walked to the gate, he verified his guess. The iron gate of the farm was locked from the inside with an iron chain lock, but now it was cut off by a sword, and the gate was wide open.

Herag looked at the empty outside at the door, and a bad feeling rose in his heart.

Emile couldn't have run out alone without telling him anything. There was a high possibility that he would encounter an accident.

He went back to the house to get his long sword and longbow, and then went out to look for Emile.

The first search direction was the north, the direction of the strange lake.

In the night, Herag moved lightly and moved forward very quickly.

Soon he saw Emile, who was wearing casual clothes, holding his long sword in his hand, and walking stiffly in the direction of the lake.

"Emir!" Herag quickly rushed over and called him twice.

Emir had no reaction and didn't even look at Herag.

Herag walked in front of him to block Emir, and suddenly found that Emir's eyes were empty and dark, which suddenly reminded him of the face he saw in the lake during the day.

Emir bypassed him and continued to move forward without responding to any of Herag's actions or words.

Herag went around to the back and looked at Emir's neck, considering whether to hit him.

He chopped with a horizontal palm, and Emir reacted very quickly, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, and forced Herag back with a swing of the long sword.

After forcing Herag back, Emir continued to move forward and gradually came to the lake. His footsteps did not stop, as if he wanted to walk directly into the lake.

The lake was bottomless and freezing cold. If he walked in, he would definitely die.

Herag was anxious and shouted, "Melissa is getting married, and the groom is not you!"

Emile stopped and opened his mouth slightly as if he wanted to say something, and his empty eyes gradually regained their spirit.

He looked back and saw Herag, a little confused: "Why am I here?"

Herag said speechlessly: "You are like a demon, walking towards the lake, and no one can stop you."

"Is it so bizarre?" Emile looked puzzled, "I remember I lost consciousness after hearing a scream, and I woke up here again."

"It's that scream that's the problem." Herag understood. Fortunately, he blocked his hearing in time, otherwise he would have ended up like Emil, and both of them would have to go into the lake to feed the fish.

"What on earth is in this lake that even the knights can only let it do what it wants." Herag said, looking at the calm lake.

Emil was also scared. It was the first time he encountered such a situation.

Splash!

There was a sudden movement in the lake.

"Be careful!" Emil clenched his sword.

Herag also stared at the lake. The small map did not show anything, but the naked eye could see two figures slowly walking out of the lake.

"This armor, judging from the style, it's the castle guard!" Emil saw the clue from the armor worn by the figure.

Herag thought of something: "Castle guard? So the missing guard actually went into this lake..."

The two figures walked slowly in front of Herag and the others.

Only then did they see the two figures clearly. They were two skeletons wearing armor, holding rusty long swords.

This was not over yet. There was movement in the lake, and three more figures slowly walked out from the bottom of the lake.

"Try it?" Emil was not afraid at all, but rather excited.

"I'll go left and you'll go right." Herag smiled.

It was the first time for them to fight against such a dead thing, and they all had a sense of excitement in their bones.
